My Apologies

I am so sorry that I have only read a couple of blogfest entries so far.  This whole "working full time thing" has really put a damper on my blogging.  The weekend also turned out to be quite busy, in terms of food shopping, laundry, and just spending time with the family.

I promise to keep going through them when I can, and appreciate your patience. How do all you working moms do it?

  1. Gosh, don't worry about that. I know exactly how you feel as I'm pushing 60 hour weeks at the moment. Don't wipe yourself out, just do what you can. I' pretty sure there isn't even one soul out there who holds it against you!

  2. It's exhausting, isn't it? And I'm only a working dad!

  3. Don't say "only a dad," Ted. You're not "only" anything!

AA ~ 60 hours a week, my goodness! I used to do that and got burned out pretty quickly. I hope things slow down soon.

I've realized it's not really my working that's the problem; it's the fact that I'm not permitted to use the Internet at the office, obviously. But I'm trying to squeeze some entry reading in during my lunch breaks.

In one respect this job is much better than teaching, because although I lose the flexibility I had before, I'm also completely done with work on evenings and weekends. No more staying up until 1 a.m. grading papers!

  4. It's tough managing 'everything'. Somethings have to give. So all you can do, all any of us can do, is to try our best.

As Jessica suggests most people understand.

  5. See, now I don't feel so bad about not having read your MG Love Scene blogfest until recently.... ;)

Don't worry, good lady: people understand busyness.

  6. Thank you, Jules! And thank you for the encouragement, Jess, Elisabeth and Ted.

Simon ~ you're still not off the hook. That contest was in March!

  7. Hey no worries about the delayed reading! I'm glad you liked my entry(ies). I LOVED the Sharpe books and I've seen all the tv episodes, too (Sean Bean is cool) (although the book-Sharpe has black hair), so it's really really cool that my piece reminded you of that!

  8. Tessa, I haven't read the books, but I'm thinking of hunting them down. Only the series was quite bloody and I'm not really a fan of all that. So I'm hesitating. The last movie was the worst, the one in India. OMG!

  9. Oh, by the way, did you notice that the arrogant Yorkshire major (or colonel or whatever he was) who caused Sharpe so many problems when he came back to England was called "George Wickham," as in Pride and Prejudice? I had to point that out to my husband, as well as that he was now watching an English movie with men in regimentals and ladies in fancy dress... just like he teases me about.

I apologize for the word verification. I hate it, but the spammers made me do it.
