That nagging feeling

Becoming a writer means that for the rest of your life, no matter what you are doing, there will be this nagging feeling that you should be writing.  You can have no rest or peace of mind until your current project is done, and even in the midst of it you'll think of one or two or ten other things to start on.

  1. O.M.G. She must be inside my head.

I wonder if there'll ever be a Writer's Anonymous. Hi my name is Anne and I haven't written for three weeks.

  2. When I haven't been able to write for a few days, I get cranky. It took me awhile to figure this out, but it's like a pressure valve that needs to be releasded regularly.

  3. you nailed it, dear. what's worse is when you know you have a project to finish but the perfectionist in you is afraid to start the next draft, so you wait for ispiration and don't feel like working on one of those 10 other projects. then you get REALLY cranky. trust me.

Um, yeah. The story of my life! In a few weeks I will be noting the 4-year anniversary of the day I started my novel.

    To quote Charlie Brown:
    "AAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

  6. Will, I know what you mean about getting cranky. It took me a long time to figure that out, too. If I'm not writing, I get so depressed! And I didn't know why.

I apologize for the word verification. I hate it, but the spammers made me do it.
